Özet: Introduction: Some plants have been used for medicinal purpose for centuries. One of the most popular plant is Teucrium polium L. that is used by Persian and Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey for many pathological situations such as gastrointestinal disturbance, inflammation and diabetes. There are no study showing the level of toxicity of the Teucrium polium L. in the literature. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Teucrium polium L. Plant on HepG2 Cell Line Plant Grown in Turkey. Material and Method: To measure of the toxicity levels Teucrium polium L. plant, cell culture method was used. Results: According to the results, Teucrium polium L. plant has shown high level of toxicity on the HepG2 cell line. Conclusion: According to our findings, unconsciously consumed products, even if they are natural, could be destroying in human body, or causing deaths and DNA breaking. Teucrium polium L. plant is not suitable for human use.
