Özet: The concept of discourse is a way of expressing in a written and / or verbal way a form of thinking and perception that has a certain consistency in the mental and logical plane. The discourses in the headlines and texts are used in various linguistic expressions with different meanings. Along with the rapid developments in information and communication technologies, the understanding of journalism and its approaches have also entered into great changes and transformations. The news was provided to be accessed more quickly, opportunities for news updates were developed, and opportunities for deeper influence on social life areas, attracting attention, attracting attention and changing opinions were provided. The model of critical discourse analysis, which will be used as a method in this research, aims to explain linguistic uses within a certain system by making use of linguistic methods. In addition, it does not only interpret the superficial truths in the news texts in a subjective way, but also embodies the meaning behind the structure. Critical discourse analysis is based on the fact that the ideological elements in news texts are embedded in selected language forms and can not be easily seen. The aim of this study is to analyze the discourse of the visual and written news texts in Cumhuriyet, Sabah, Sözcü and Yeni Şafak newspapers which are determined as sample in the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections of 24 June 2018. For the work to be conducted, news on the topic was used by Teun van Dijk's model of critical discourse analysis. Within the concept of the research, the reports about the elections in the headlines and headlines in the newspapers set as a sample one day before the election, one day after the election and one day after the election were subjected to discourse analysis and the way in which the elections were handled in the newspapers.
