Özet: The purpose of this study was to provide initial results on the adaptation and validation of the Career Futures Inventory (CFI) to Turkish language The study participants consist of 555 college students whose participated from Ankara University (n=384, % 69.19) and Samsun 19 Mayıs University (n=171; % 30.81). In order to examine the psychometric properties of the scale that was developed for evaluate the positive career planning attitudes and consists of three subscales referred to career adaptability (CA), career optimism (CO) and perceived knowledge (PK), item and factor analysis were used. Results from a Cronbach alfa correlation, item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis in a sample 555 undergraduates confirmed original three subscales for Turkish version: Career Adaptability (CA), Career Optimism (CO) and Perceived Knowledge (PK). The internal consistency values were found for CA, CO, PK and total as 0.83, 0.82, 0.62 and 0.88. In addition confirmatory factor analysis and concurrent validity studies were used to test the validity of scale. These analyses revealed that convergent validity of scale high and positive career planning attitudes correlates with active and positive coping abilities. This article suggests that Career Futures Inventory (CFI) is a useful tool for career counseling practices for Turkish culture.
