Özet: In comparison to Arabic dialect spoken in some other cities of Turkey, Arabic dialect spoken in Mardin has an important place in terms of being close to fluent Arabic and possessing archaic features. This dialect contains many features of fluent Arabic in terms of its phonetics, morphology and syntax. This article provides information about the cultural and linguistic richness and some dialectic features of the Arabic dialect spoken in Mardin. The geographical area subject to this study is not limited to Mardin city centre but also includes the connected towns and villages, and brief information on this dialect is provided through compiled samples and observations.
