Özet: The family Tephritidae of the order Diptera with a large number of species has a worldwide distribution area. Tephritidae is mostlyknown with the species making economically damage on some fruits. The larvae of species belonging to this family are called “Fruit flies”due to generally their feeding on fruits of cultivated and wild plants. Some of the species inducing gall on the plants are also named “Gallflies”. Some tephritid species feeding on weeds and take them under pressure. Therefore, there are also important species in terms ofbiological control of weeds. Until now, 4.400 tephritid species belonging to 481 genera, and 900 species belonging to 137 genera are knownin the World and Palearctic region, respectively. In Turkey, totally, 133 species were recorded in the studies conducted till now. The speciesdetermined from the studies related to the Turkish Tephritidae were evaluated in this review, and given their locality and host records.
