Özet: The social structure is based on open, semi-open, closed systems. This fact can cause a differentiation and stratification on social-cultural-religiouspolitical-economic-ethnic issues in a society. As a result of this the social stratification can prevent the formation of the social and national unity. According to this the stratification is existing in three (open, semi-open, closed) elements. At the open social stratification the social mobility of individuals is possible by acquired identity. At the closed social stratification there is no social mobility and the acquired identity is transferred from father to son. In the article the caste/varna system in India which is the most obvious way of closed social stratification is discussed. As well as it has also been explained how the cast formed the social mobility
