Özet: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a leader who has gathered all over the world’s attention and appreciation with both his military genius during the national struggle and the Turkish War of Independence, and political stance, decisions and actions after the establishment of the Turkish Republic. Evaluating the causes of immortality instead of grieving the death of him at the 79th year of his death and make an assessment of the individual factors behind this extraordinary personality in terms of psychology in the light of scientific approaches, will shed light on our future and today. The aim of the study, to evaluate the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic via the historical documents. It is a theoretical compilation study on the basis of cognitive psychology of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s leadership and mental skills in the light of the decisions taken with the successful foresight both in the period of national struggle and the difficult conditions of a newly established republican administration. With this aim, both theoretical and historical sources have been searched and benefited from the articles published in national and international peerreviewed journals and books. In addition to the scientific sources that include various evaluations about Atatürk, historical sources, including his own words and decisions which are indicative of cognitive genius were also incorporated in the study
