Özet: The Shīʿīte understanding of the ḥadīt̲h̲ has become a more attractive research field, especially after the 2000s. In recent years, various books and articles have been published in this field, translations have been made, and papers have been presented in some academic conferences. Ömer Özpınar’s book entitled Şiî Hadîs Tarihi (History of S̲h̲īʿīte Ḥadīt̲h̲ ) is one of the latest studies on that topic. The fact that there are not so many works in that field and the academic career of its author makes this book much more important. This study aims to evaluate the subject book in detail, especially in terms of its method and use of sources, and to introduce some proposals regarding S̲h̲īʿīte ḥadīt̲h̲ researches through this book. In the study, the chapters of the book were followed flexibly, a thematic approach was preferred to analyze its content and quotes are taken conscientiously in order to discuss the author’s expressions exactly as they are.
