Özet: Glanders cases in humans are not Iess frequent in Turkey,although compared with zoonos they are rare. 24 cases of glanders have been encountered with during the years 1950- 1960, giving only one casualty. Last case was that of a gir! of 12 hospitalized at Ankara Numune Hospital on February 19th, 1961. She was given streptomycin, aureomycin and erithromycin treatment and was discharged later on as fully recovered. Glanders cases amongst animals fixed through periodic check - ups or notification as to the existence of the disease :                            Number of Years     focus             Dead         Killed 1958       195                  0            1036 1959       232                  0              542 1960       322                  5              506 Rarity of glanders in humans does not account for the rarity of the same amongst animals. Some specific conditions must be in existence for the disease to propagate. Cronical cases of glanders can also be included here. Doubtless there are cases ending with casualties which are never brought to the attention of our clinics.
