Özet: This paper deseribes the results of trials on a live vaccine against N ewcastle Disease giving protection for a period of 6 months. This vaccine was prepared in Turkey by using Komarov's «Haifa NcD.;ı strain and was applied to 4- 5 month old Leghorn male pullets by the intra-muscular route. The results obtained during the trial were as follows : 1) The protection of the vaccinated birds against challeng2 started at 48 hourse and continud to increase through 2 hourse and reached to its peak on the 6 th. day after vaccination. it was, howewer, abserved that haemagglutination-inhibition antibody in the serum of the vaccinated birds started on the 6 th. day and reaced to its peak on the 12 th. day after the vaccination. 2) The protection of the vaccinated pull~ts against challange lasted for 6 months when the trial was stopped, but the titer of haemagglutination- inhibition antibody in the serum of the vaccinated birds started to decline aft·2r 4 months from vaccination Therefore, ~t is believed that reveccination should be done during the 4th- 5 th. month after vaccination.
