Özet: Beekeeping is practiced in almost all parts of the world helping to provide food sush as honey production and pollination of crops. Honey bee diseases and pests limit the efficiency of beekeeping activities which provide honey production over 1 million tons per year worldwide. Although Turkey has suitable seasonal and geographic conditions for beekeeping activities, a relatively low amount of honey production is obtained because of wrong colony management and insufficient pest and disease management activities. Nosema is the most important bee disease and affects the honey production and influences adult bees. Microsporidian called as Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae are the etiologic agents of the disease. Many studies report that nosema disease causes colony losses in different parts of the country. In this paper, Turkish studies about the existance and identification of nosema are given systematically.
