Özet: This review was prepared considering the possible effecs water holding polyacrylamide (PAM) polymers in dry agriculture on yield and water use of the crops during critical periods of water and storing rainwater by adding to soil during sowing in dry conditions, in Turkey. Water holding polymers were described in terms of their positive impacts on the soil and plants and emphasized that had not ecotoxicological impacts on the environment. We aimed to given information to farmers about the benefits of water holding PAMs in areas where there was not sufficient rainwater and irrigation water.
