Özet: In this study,structuraland technical characteristics of certified seedproducing enterprisesinKonyaprovincewere analyzed. Main data of the study was obtained by survey method from managers of 33 enterprises producing certified seed in Konya province and the secondary information consisted of relative statistics and related studies of the subject.According to the findings, liberal policiesimposed on theseed sectorin 1980shas contributedto the development of private certified seed sectorin Turkey.In the same manner, 78.79% of the seed-producing enterprises werefoundedin the 2000s in Konya province.Because of inadequate research and developmentstaff, laboratories and research and developmentprojects, enterprises have beenmainlyproducing certified seed rather than making Research and Development.Enterprises declared that that they did not face with marketing problemsandthey sold the produced seeds to every regions, besidesthe Central Anatolia Region of Turkey.
