Özet: Due to restriction of sugar beet cultivation areas in irrigated agriculture of Central Anatolia, searching for alternative crops has gained a speed. Corn can be considered as an alternative crop because of its use with industrial aims in addition to its use in feed industry. The study was carried out under Eskisehir conditions to determine the yield and yield components in three dent corn varieties (P-3394, Luce, Sinatra) grown following wheat and canola in fields of Application and Research Station of Faculty of Agriculture at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, in 2006 and 2007. Among the components examined in the study, the highest values for plant height, cob size and cob weight were found in the variety P-3394. The highest grain yield was obtained from P- 3394 variety (1.688 kg/h) grown following wheat. Among the crop rotation systems, higher values for cob size, leaf area, cob weight, number of row per cob and grain weight were determined. The application where precrop was wheat compared to the application where pre-crop was canola. Considering pre-crop and years, P-3394 variety which exhibited a more stable grain yield performance can be suggested for grain production in the region.
