Özet: This study aims to analyze the accuracy of grey water and green roof systems use at the same time by evaluating water consumption for houses. The most important reason for this is the fact that people are likely to avoid green roof systems, which make a great contribution to urban sustainability, due to cost of it while the amount of grey water created by houses has been getting increased depending on the average water consumption. In this study, the average cost of these two sustainable systems was calculated for a randomly selected apartment in Trabzon city. To do this, some questions on the cost of green roof and grey water systems were asked to some companies that have been in private sector for a long time and the answers from them in addition to the data we collected from different resources were analyzed so that we could calculate how long it takes to redeem itself. Apart from these, certification systems regarding sustainability that buildings can get when they have both of grey water systems and green roofs were evaluated. As a result, the fact that it would be quite logical when they are used together was clear. One of the other final targets that we want to get to is to create a support for housing industry, which covers 60% of all the construction industries in Turkey, to have grey water and green roof systems together.
