Özet: Potassium (K) is the third essential nutrient for plant growth and the second nutrient that is absorbed by plants after the nitrogen. Although the total K content of soils is often a multiple of the amount the plants absorb during a growing season, in most cases only a very small part of this total K is useful for plants. Therefore, determination of soils K fixation capacity is very important in terms of potassium nutrition of plants. In this study, the amount of potassium in soils, depot potassium and potassium fixation capacity of soils were determined. Potassium fixation characteristics of soils were determined by applying 5 different potassium solution (0, 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 mg K kg-1) to 25 soil samples with different soil texture. According to the results of the analysis, 78.5% fixation was determined regardless of the potassium doses applied to the soil. As a result, when these samples taken from different points in Ordu are evaluated, the fixation capacity of soils is very high and it is very important to take into consideration the fertilization programs.
