Özet: This study was conducted to determine the cicer milkvetch (Astragalus cicer L.) harvested in different ripening periods, the chemical composition of the grass, the in vitro gas production, the metabolic energy (ME), the organic matter digestion (OMD) and the relative feed values (RFV). In vitro gas production amounts of cicer milkvetch hays were determined at 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours intervals and differences between incubation times were found to be significant (P<0.01). In addition, the maturation of cicer milkvetch hays significantly affected the chemical composition of ME, OMD and RFV (P<0.01). Depending on the development period, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and acid detergent lignin (ADL) contents of cicer milkvetch hays were increased, crude protein (CP), ME, OMD and RFV decreased (P<0.01). As a result, the harvesting periods affected the feed value of cicer milkvetch hays. The highest feed value was determined in vegetative and flowering period (P<0.01).
