Özet: Turkey ranks fifth in world production of plums. Plum cultivation in our country is mainly concentrated in Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Malatya province, which is located in the Eastern Anatolia Region, is one of the most important fruit growing centers where many fruit species are grown successfully. Determining the performance of different plum varieties in the province where plum cultivation is not developed sufficiently is gaining importance in terms of production diversity. The aim of this study conducted in Malatya Apricot Research Institute Directorate in 2016-2017 was to determine the performance of Giant, Grant Prize, President, R.C.Violet and Stanley cultivars from European group plums in Malatya ecology. In the study, it was observed that the buds swelled in the last week of March in all varieties and the varieties did not differ significantly. When the blooming period was taken into consideration, the earliest flowering cultivar was President (08-12 April), while the latest flowering cultivar was Stanley (11-15 April). In terms of harvest time, the Grand Prize was matured at the earliest (18-23 August), the President matured at the latest (10-14 September). President cultivar inclined to strong and upright development, while Stanley cultivar inclined to be broader. It was determined that the fruit weight was between 24.45 (Stanley) -70.29 g (President), the flesh / seed ratio ranged from 14.15 (Stanley) -28.46 (Grand prize) and TSS ranged from 17.60% (President) to 19.30% (Grand Prize). The lowest and highest yields were determined in Grand Prize and Stanley cultivars respectively. At the end of the study, it was determined that all varieties could be successfully grown in the region in terms of phenological and pomological characteristics.
