Özet: When photography emerged in the world of art, visible reality started to be reflected directly and the art of painting had to search for new approaches. During the periods when classical understanding of painting was challenged, the collage technique was introduced together with dada and photography opened up new perspectives for the collage and photomontage works of those artists, who accepted the expressionist approach. The painters preferred to use photography as a medium of artistic expression rather than a technical approach for copy and reproduction. Therefore an expressionist approach emerged in the art of photography and Man Ray developed different forms of expression using the Rayograph technique, which is his own discovery. Tis technique, which also has a painterly effect, laid the foundations of the expressionist photography technique.
