Özet: The aim of this text is not to discuss the definition or function of illustration. Today, researches, in order to provide sources for defining illustration and its history already have similar data for us. These sources mostly contain Euro-centric tradition of illustration and its own history but it is not possible to say that many successful local examples are included. Illustration today which forms the issues of this text, producing countless visuals, is created in a design world that they are presented to consumers even before the production ends. The aim of this text is not to find regional belonging or historical categorisation but to analyse an illustrative visual through evolving principles of form/context/function, its popular identity and global success in its current position.
