Özet: Agricultural engineering is the only profession that contributes to the development of animal production. Agricultural engineers, who receive animal science training, are mentioned in the field as a zootechnician agricultural engineer and in the annexes of relevant legislation. The current zootechnical education in our country is different from the European countries, not for three years but for four years, and the students take 240 ECTS. The students studying in the Animal Science Undergraduate Program also take courses related to the animal care, nutrition and breeding, as well as taking courses related to animal production and animal feed industry in the field and gain enough skills and competencies in the field of animal science. However, in the 5996 numbered Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law and the regulations issued on the basis of this regulations, that have reduced the competence of zootechnician agricultural engineers. In order to move further from our country's animal production situation, there has been a need to improve the legislation that will benefit more than our agricultural engineers' technical knowledge and equipment. These improvements will provide more and more qualified student flows to zootechnical undergraduate programs in our existing faculties of agriculture.
