Özet: In this experimental study, the samples of masonry wall were produced to increase the capacity of horizontal load bearing for two different methods. The second represented the samples of masonry wall with mortar with increased high-binding mortar with the help of additional materials. Preliminary experiments were made to determine the mixing rate of the additional material and the amount with the most proper value was used in the further experiments. In the experiential study, standard shearing test, suggested in ASTM 1391-81 for masonry wall samples, was applied. The samples produced in the same measurements were put under experiment. In the second stage, the samples were produced by using different bonding types. The samples formed by using running bond and interlocking bond were used. The behaviors of the samples and the cracks observed were put under analysis. In conclusion, the load- displacement graphics for the walls with normal mortar and additive material mortar were compared with the load-displacement graphics for the samples with running bond and interlocking bond.
