Özet: A settlement may display different values of risks. For instance, some regions in a settlement may be; densely populated or/and showing an increasing trend in the number of elderly that carries high risk of disease, or/and having junctions with high accident records. One of the main issues that has to be taken into account while selecting a hospital site is the risk factors. Considering the minimization of risks and costs makes hospital site selection process an optimization problem. One of these methods is Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm that is inspired from real life ants' behavior to find the shortest path on foraging. Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm has applied successfully for hospital site selection in a settlement and defining risk factors.
