Özet: This study aims to present the perceptions of students and teachers of 8 primary schools located nearby main roads or streets with heavy traffic in the city centre of Amasya province regarding auditory comfort conditions in classrooms. Surveys were conducted in students (N=1034) and teachers (N=103). In the schools where the study was conducted, external noise levels were measured as Leq54-77dBA, L9056-65dBA. During the classes were conducted, the level of internal noise caused by student activities was measured as Leq67-74dBA when the windows were closed in the classrooms and the background noise level was measured as L9051-59dBA. When the windows were open, it was observed that these levels increased even more and the average noise level was above the acceptable noise level, which was above the normal levels set by regulations. Based on the survey results, it was observed that the classrooms did not meet the conditions set for educational institutions in terms of noise levels. SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analyses of the findings.
