Özet: It has been intended with this research to determine similarities and relations of signs and symbols, playing a fundamental role in intercultural interaction and communication, within the context of meaning in Anatolia and other cultures. In parallel with this goal, it appears with the analysis of signs and symbols in terms of meaning that they reflect cultural facts of a period in which they have been formed. Cultural sources are the only key that we can use as a means of deciphering them. Signs and symbols arising, progressing and vanishing culture-dependently, in a manner of speaking, had been a testament to social evolutions as well.Symbols and symbolical expressions emerge by expressing the inner natures, world-views and belief systems of different cultures as a shape, a color, a thought or a movement. During the period of emergence, intercultural communication and interaction and characteristics of the region are of vital importance.When being exemplified, in Anatolian culture and general manner, every extent of the subject willed to express may have been signified in linear editing on weaves namely “symbols”; particular meanings have been attributed to these images; and with the additon of color, all thoughts and emotions may have been expressed at once. Accordingly, signs and symbols continue their existence as the notions to be queried constantly within the cultural pattern
