Özet: Problem Statement: Yayla is one of the important population movements in Turkey. However, the decreasing importance of grazing animals in pasture lands due to changing social, cultural and economical conditions and the perpetual decline in the population of rural settlements through immigration; have caused the traditional yayla to lose its importance. Unlike their fellows, the people of the village of Hacıhüseyinler have achieved to carry on yayla activity up to date in spite of all the disadvantages of modernization. How come the yayla activities in the plateau of Hacıhüseyinler survive today is questioned within this work. Purpose of the Study: The basic purposes of this study are to determine the current status of the plateau of Hacıhüseyinler which is actively and intensely used, located in the north slope of Madra Mountain, to state the key actors that actively leads to yayla on Madra Mountain while the traditional lifestyles and subsistence practices regress during the process of modernization, and to indicate the factors that threaten the traditional yayla in the plateau of Hacıhüseyinler.Methodology: Fieldwork is the basic method used in this work which handles the yayla in the plateau of Hacıhüseyinler. Field observation and the reports with the inhabitants of the village are the methods for gathering data during field research. Comprehensive questions are directed during the reports. Furthermore, data gathered from the field is supported by the evaluation of available literature and office work. Results and Conclusions: The yayla, which was used for summer grazing throughout centuries by Hacıhüseyinler people from the tribe of Konargöçer Kılaz, has lost its significance due to modernization. However, unlike similar fields, the traditional yayla is going on in spite of all negative developments. This situation is provided substantially by the strong family relations, close social cooperation, traditional dependence and the conservation of enclosed social structure.Although the local people are willing and insistent on sustaining traditional yayla, a longer term preservation of the traditional culture itself against modernization process is not to be seen possible
