Özet: Today, with the change in the career goals of the young population, the demand for higher education is increasing day by day. Besides the state universities meeting this demand, private universities also play a big role. Accordingly, the number of the private universities is increasing day by day. The financing of the service provided by state universities is subject to fees and taxes. Most of the financing of the service provided by the private universities consists of the income obtained from the students. Private universities also contribute to the world of science through the academic studies of the academicians they employ and at the same time, they increase the students’ demand for these universities with the existing academic staff structure. For the private universities, the service supply also means cost /expense and students’ demand means income. The difference between cost and income will cause these universities to continue or terminate their services. In this context, it is possible to rank the private universities according to their financial and academic performances. In this study, success ranking of private universities was made by using ENTROPY- weighted TOPSIS method which is one of the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. In conclusion, the performances of the colleges and universities have been evaluated, and recommendations have been made in terms of their popularity.
