Özet: Textbooks have always been the subject of review in terms of their contents and their purpose of use. In particular, social studies textbooks have been given a distinct significance since their contents included different educational disciplines such as history, geography and civics. In Turkey, The Social Studies course was taken in a very late period and in 1968, studies on textbooks and later discussions began in a relatively very late period. Since 1998, studies have been carried out on social studies textbooks at academic level. In this study, graduate (Master's and Doctoral) edıcation theses on social studies textbooks were examined in Turkey between 1998-2020. In the study, the thesis analysis form was used as a data collection tool with the document review method for the evaluation of graduate education theses. In the said form, theses are categorized according to types, years, Universities, Institutes, advisor titles, country/ countries studied, subject/ subjects studied, and study patterns. The results obtained from the examination were shown and interpreted with frequency and percentage tables. As a result of the survey conducted at the national thesis center of the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Turkey (CoHE), 129 graduate education theses with the title of Social Studies textbooks were reached. The fact that 125 of them are at the master's level and 4 are at the doctoral level further increases the importance of the study. In this context, discussions and suggestions for theses on social studies textbooks were given in the conclusion part of the study.
