Özet: One of the most prominent philosophers of postmodern age, Jean Baudrillard states that the millennium age we live in has lost its realism and that we live in a world of artificiality. This state, which Baudrillard’s simulation theory is based on, is represented by reality’s transformation into demonstrations, images and codes using simulacra. The domination of the hyper-real is metastasizing in all areas of thought and daily life. Baudrillard puts forth seduction as a phenomenon that promotes the appeal of modern life and helps transformation of things into simulacra. Seduction is defined as an act of usurping reality’s power leading to the evaporation of meaning. This article will look into the definition of simulacra and the theory of simulation – its origins and content, Baudrillard’s definition of seduction in the theory of simulation, the effects of seduction in sexuality, politics, cybernetics and other areas while exploring seduction’s illusionary aspect and its limits. Moreover, it will look into Baudrillard’s use of Kierkegaard’s concept of seduction in defining the natures of seductor and the seductee and the object and the subject
