Özet: Objective: This study is aimed to analyse doctorate and master theses made in surgical nursing department in Turkey. Method: The data of the research was obtained from the Council of Higher Education Thesis Center (COHETC, by the researchers. In the COHETC web site detailed search criteria were used; department: “Surgical Disease Nursing Department” and date ranges: 1991-2019 were selected and the research universe was determined (n=641). After excluding theses that were not open access (n=117) and which did not meet the inclusion criteria (n=24) the research sample (n=500) was obtained. The IBM SPSS 22.0 package program was used for statistically analysis. Results: It was determined that 78.2% of the theses included in the research were master's thesis, 37.4% of the researchers were in the 24-29 age range and 36.8% of the consultants were professors, and the highest number of theses was made in 2015 and in Istanbul. It was determined that 49.1% of the theses were aimed at collecting information, 46.9% of were descriptive research, 48.4% of them were using scales and 63.7% of the theses were chosen patients as the sample. Conclusion: It has been determined that the number of the postgraduate theses has increased in recent years, experimental research methods are preferred more in doctoral and descriptive are preferred in master's theses.
