Özet: The developments expressed with the concepts of innovation and modern- ization during 16th-19th centuries determined the fate of the Ottoman Emire as well as the newly established Republic of Turkey. The change and transformation in society has affected all fields of social and cultural life rangeing from clothing to politics, literature and art. Westernization (Eu- ropeanization) with the effect of changes occurring in the Ottoman society, which will be established in the future State of the Republic of Turkey has established the infrastructure of society and the state. With the effect of Westernization, there were some problems in the transfer of cultural and artistic heritage after the Ottoman Empire. The most important of these problems was the attempt to negate and marginalize the heritage of the past by the wholly established state. While this denial and othering was done, a judgmental approach was followed for ideological reasons and there was a duality in all areas of society. This duality led to hesitations and prejudg- ment in society. With the guidance of the ideologues of the societies that can be defined as two nations established as a continuation of each other, we will try to deal with the problems in the points of view as a result of prejudgment.
