Özet: According to Cultural Studies the society has a fragmented structure and consists of collectivities which create ‘representation systems’ by providing consensus within the framework of their common meanings. Collectivities develop the reactions and resistance by the cultural forms in their daily life practices. And they create their hegemonic struggle areas. This study aims to understand the musical practices of Apeiron collective based on Gram- sci’s concept of hegemony. Apeiron Collective supports the groups that write and perform their own songs in Izmir. According to Apeiron alternative music cannot be found in Izmir rock bars. This study aims to under- stand the struggle of Apeiron with main stream codes in Izmir, within hegemony concept.
