Özet: Abstract The basic aim of this research study is to examine the level of fifth graders’ reading comprehension skills and to determine their learning deficiencies. The data for the research was gathered from 85 primary school students. The data of the research was obtained by the “Reading Comprehension Skills Test” developed by the researchers. According to the research results, the students were the least successful at the sentence level and there was not a significant difference between the success of students from different socio-economic backgrounds. Moreover, the study found a significant correlation at word, sentence, and paragraph levels.
