Özet: Abstract The main purpose of the study is to evaluate Community Service Practices Course (CSPC) according to the opinions of instructors and prospective teachers, and investigating the affectivity of this course in terms of democratic citizenship education with the light of these opinions. The participants of the study consisted of 213 prospective teachers and six instructors responsible for the CSPC. Community Service Practices Course Questionnaire and semi-structured interview forms were used as data collection tools. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistics for quantitative data and descriptive analysis for qualitative data were used. Research results indicated that prospective teachers mostly agreed with learning outcomes of the CSPC are mostly realized, and this course highly contributes to gaining the characteristics of a democratic citizen. In accordance with the findings most of the prospective teachers have positive attitudes toward CSPC and they believe that this course should be included in the teacher education programs.
