Özet: Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between critical reading and visual reading and their relationship with students' various demographic characteristics. The sample consisted of 627 students who were in 5th grade of primary education in randomly selected schools in Eskişehir, in the autumn term of 2010 - 2011 academic year. The data were collected by "Individual Information Form", "Critical Reading Scale" and "Visual Reading Test". The analyses revealed that critical reading and visual reading skills of students' high, both of the skills vary according to demographic characteristics of students' and there is a moderate significant relationship between both of skills.
