Özet: Abstract Lifelong learning, which is one of the most important components of being successful in the knowledge era, is among the competencies a teacher must have. It is of great importance for teachers to have lifelong learning competencies considering their students’ needs. In this study, we aim to evaluate perceived lifelong learning competencies of 83 high school teachers who attended the in-service teacher training seminar titled “Learning- Teaching Theories and Approaches” at Mersin In-Service Training Institute in the 2015-2016 academic year. All seminar participants were included in the study. The data were collected through the demographic questions added by the researcher and “Lifelong Learning Competence Scale” developed by Uzunboylu and Hürsen (2011). The results of the study showed that the perceived lifelong learning competency levels of the teachers were high. Moreover, no meaningful difference related to gender, major, and length of service was found. It is suggested that in addition to using these kinds of scales, other evaluation tools and using mixed methods could help in reaching more detailed and deeper findings.
