In the study, a mixed method was used. The quantitative dimension of the research consisted of points taken from “Attitude Scale towards Curriculum Development and Instruction Course”, and the qualitative dimension of the research consisted of metaphors produced by the teacher candidates related to the curriculum development course (CD). The study was conducted with 255 teacher candidates attending a pedagogical formation programme. The analysis of the results revealed that the teacher candidates had high levels of general attitude point averages. It was found that there was no significant difference among the attitude points related to the CD course with respect to their fields of study, however, there was a significant difference in favor of the graduates. The categories emerged from the metaphors were collected under the titles of “guidance”, “vitalness”, “forming”, “systematic integrity”, “rich content” and “complicated-boring content”. Lastly, the metaphors of the teacher candidates with the highest attitude points were found to be positive, and the metaphors of the teacher candidates with the lowest attitude points were found to be negative.
