Özet: Participatory culture is one of the important concepts brought to social life by active user-centered internet that emerged with Web 2.0. When the discussions on convergence culture are examined, there is no conclusion that the concept is really good or really bad. When looked at, that it provides the users with a free space, allowing them to exhibit their creativity, and supporting the popular culture stands out as its positive aspects. However, the fact that there is no financial compensation for the participation of the users, the processing and sale of personal information to the advertisers and the exploitation of their content by the media companies cause negative thoughts against the participatory culture. In this study convergence culture is examined in respect of these discussions. In order to examine the participatory culture, the competition “Survivor Turkey”s fan pages opened and caps found on the internet, which never leaves being number one on rating measurements both on TV and social media on the day it is broadcasted to anyone else, are chosen. In the examination, it was determined that the participatory culture contents were followed and liked by the internet users intensively.
