Özet: In this study, thermal, burning and surface roughness properties of particleboards obtained from the stalks of canola (Brassica napus L.), an herbaceous plant with oil seeds, were investigated. The experimental design of the boards consisted of 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% mixtures of canola and pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) particles. Thermal analysis findings showed that the higher participation rate of canola particles offered the higher thermal stability of the produced boards. In addition, the results of the single source flame test supported the findings of thermal analysis. The burning trace on the boards decreased as the canola particles rate increased. As the ratio of canola particles increased in the production of the boards, surface roughness values decreased. As a result of the study, it was found that the stalks of canola plant have the potential to be used as raw material in the production of thermal resistant boards to be used in dry conditions.
