Özet: This study was carried out in Harkköyü region in Karakaya basin of Tirebolu district of Giresun province. Studied region, Turkey's oldest cultivated nut is located between the regions. In this study, 21 genotypes were selected among hundreds of hazelnut plants and the evaluations were made on these genotypes. In the selection of genotypes in the field, fruit size and shell thickness were emphasized and in laboratory investigations were applied hazelnut selection criteria. In the study, fruit weight was found to be 1.63-2.40 g, internal weight 0.90-1.18 g, kernel rate 44.91-56.27%, shell thickness 1.12-1.52 mm, kernel cavity 0.53-3.28 mm and fruit size 16.64-17.29 mm.
