Özet: Gaziantep is a unique city in terms of history, economics and sociology in South-eastern Anatolia. Its economic indicators are above the ones of overall of Turkey. Therefore, it is the destination of a dense internal migration. It has a cosmopolitan feature in terms of its culture and sociology. It is seen that non- Muslim communities had co-habited for a long time in the past eras. In the age of Empire, there had been a huge religious (Islamic) pressure upon the society. These dominative marks of religious and traditional elements are still observed in social organization and everyday life of the city. In this essay, transitiveness/continuity in civil social life of city is “sociologically” raised. The dynamics which enliven the civil social life of city are critically analysed.
