Özet: The aim of this study is to compare the perceptions of competence for parenting and stress levels of parents with and without gifted children. For this purpose, parents of 106 gifted children attending Batman Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) and the parents of 145 normally developing children attending official schools participated in the study. In the study, a Personal Information Form was used to collect the socio-demographic information of the participants, Parental Self-Efficacy Scale (PSES) was used to measure parenting perceptions of parenting and Parental Stress Scale (PSS) was used to measure parenting stress. According to the results of the study, there is a negative and significant relationship between parental self-efficacy perception and parenting stress in the parents of gifted and non-gifted children. This relationship was found to be stronger in parents with gifted children. In addition, no significant difference was found between parental competence perception and stress levels of parents with and without gifted children.
