Özet: The concepts of change and transformation are essential in urban planning. Over the course of time, the transformation of urban places has become one of the main means of change. The aim of this research is to investigate the social, economic and environmental links between sustainability and urban transformation in a spatial dimension. Another objective of this study is to reveal the role of the urban transformation projects implemented in Isparta province, one of the medium scaled province of The Republic of Turkey, in ensuring urban sustainability and to explain its dimensional effects. It is seen that the urban transformation works implemented in the city center of Isparta are not integrated in urban planning and the actions taken are not urban transformation but a land transformation.
