Özet: Law No. 6360, which came into force after the local elections of March 30, 2014, has opened areas for discussion on many administrative, political and financial issues. This study aims to examine academic studies evaluating the process from the draft stage of the law until today. Accordingly, the literature review method was used to reach a comprehensive synthesis of many publications and documents. The main purpose of the study is to identify positive and negative criticism in academic studies on major issues related to Law No. 6360, and to contribute to local governments in line with these findings. Study; Law No. 6360 and its rationale, municipal municipalities and villages whose legal entities have been removed; the effects of the law on rural areas, service delivery, centralization-localization issues, participation and democracy and financial issues; The evaluation of academic studies on these issues within the framework of the constitutionality and the cities of the metropolitan system were examined As a result, it has been observed that there are a lot of academic studies on the subject in which have generally discussed on similar cases, and there are positive criticisms as well as negative criticisms.
