Özet: The fossil resources such as petroleum, natural gas, coal on earth are expected to decrease rapidly due to future population growth and increasing use of devices used in daily life. For this reason, the use of renewable energy investments and resources in countries with renewable natural resources is of great importance in terms of meeting the energy needs. The purpose of this study to compare the tax incentives for renewable energy investment in Turkey and in selected countries, especially in terms of the tax reductions and the tax exemptions. In order to realize this aim, the incentives which are mentioned in both the tax laws and energy laws of the concerned countries are examined. Algeria has come to the fore with five different tax incentives in the field of renewable energy investments compared to other countries. For the sample countries, it can be said that Jordan offers the least incentive for the tax incentives. Turkey is dependent on foreign energy due to have their oil reserves. It would be more efficient to reduce this dependency and to configure the tax incentives used in the field of renewable energy by using the incentive systems implemented by other countries in this field.
