Özet: Occupational accidents have been a significant problem in Turkey. According to the statistics of Ministry of Labor and Social Security (SGK) there have been 64316 occupational accidents and 429 job illnesses in 2009 in Turkey. 1171 of these resulted in death while 1885 workers have been unable to work due to these accidents. In 2009 there has been a loss of 1533749 labor day caused by the accidents. When we look into the sectoral distribution of these accidents, it is seen observed that Metal, Mining and Construction sectors are the first three of all. According to the policy document of National Occupational Health and Safety Council of Turkey, among the goals of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) for 2009-2013 is to reduce accident frequency at a rate of 20 %. In order to reduce the accidents, it is obligatory to perceive the present risks and to analyze them correctly. According to the Labor Act numbered 4857 it is compulsory to make a risk assessment at all the working places. In this study we have made a risk assessment at a big factory active in Construction sector in Kırıkkale using Risk Assessment Matrix. We have determined the risk consequences of the cause of accidents by taking the true life accidents, near miss cases, kinds of injuries and the experience acquired into account.
