Özet: Science education can be realized not only in a closed class environment but also outdoor school. Studies indicate that teaching in non-formal learning environments is effective in increasing the academic achievement, attitude and knowledge of students. Science education preservice teachers perform in their learning environment outdoor school is effectve in increasing the self-confidence. The level of knowledge that preservice teachers have about outside school learning environments is also very important in terms of implementation. The research group of this study is 100 preservice science teachers in the Faculty of Education at a state universite west region of Turkey. An open-ended questionnaire consisting of six questions was used to determine the opinions of the preservice teachers about their outdoor school learning environments.Preservice teachers responses taking part in the response categories are calculated. In the results obtained, it was determined that the preservice teachers commonly regard the fields such as home, friend's environment, courses as outdoor school learning environment. They pointed out at their responses that teaching in these settings is effective on permanent learning. They talked about the various advantages and disadvantages of teaching in outdoor school learning environments. It is suggested that preservice teachers may be able to discuss sample applications abour outdoor school learning environment in lessons related to teaching methods.
