Özet: Purpose: The velocity is described as a motional ability depending on rapid action skill of muscles and neural system and it is one of the significant factors to succeed at football. The purpose in this study is the examination of the relationship between body compositions and velocities of a group of amateur soccer players. Method: It is determined that average age value of soccer players is 22,14 years, height is 175,24 cm, body weight is 69,00 kg, BMI is 22,40 kg/m2, body fat ratio is 7,40%, body fat mass is 5,27 kg, fat-free mass is 63,73 kg, sprint time of 10 meters is 1,71 seconds and sprint time of 30 meters is 4,21 seconds. While a significant correlation between body mass index as well as fat-free body mass and 10 meters & 30 meters sprint time has not been detected; a significant positive correlations in medium and high level have been found between body fat percentage as well as body fat mass and sprint time of 10 meters & 30 meters as a result of correlation analysis of data obtained from the soccer players. Results: It is determined that average age value of soccer players is 22,14 years, height is 175,24 cm, body weight is 69,00 kg, BMI is 22,40 kg/m2, body fat ratio is 7,40%, body fat mass is 5,27 kg, fat-free mass is 63,73 kg, sprint time of 10 meters is 1,71 seconds and sprint time of 30 metres is 4,21 seconds. While a significant correlation between body mass index as well as fat-free body mass and 10 metres & 30 metres sprint time has not been detected; a significant positive correlations in medium and high level have been found between body fat percentage as well as body fat mass and sprint time of 10 metres & 30 metres as a result of correlation analysis of data obtained from the soccer players. Conclusion: As a conclusion; the more body fat percentage and mass at amateur soccer players, the more sprint time of 10 meters and 30 meters. In this case, it can be asserted that excessive fat percentage and mass affect velocity adversely.
