Özet: Apricot is one of the important export products of Turkey. Some studies showed that unproductiveness problem of apricots together with increasing production areas arises because of selfincompatibility. Nowadays, molecular studies support these results, which were obtained from some classical studies and this will improve efficiency in pratical applications. In this study, self(in)compatibility of 95 local apricot genotypes determined by molecular studies. SRc-R and SRc-F primer pairs were used to obtain S alleles of the genotypes. According to the results of these primer pairs, S c (self-compatible) allel is not distinguished from the S allel. Thus, there are some inconsistency between our results and the other studies. All studies (classical and molecular) were evaluated together and found out that Canakkale, Ethembey, Karacabey, Mektep and Yerli İzmir have S c allel. Our important dried apricot varieties Hacihaliloglu, Kabaasi, and Cataloglu were observed to be self-incompatible genotypes.
