Özet: Jokes, the genre born in the oral tradition and found itself in the written culture over time, have a very important position among the folk literature works. Jokes contain traces of the societies in which they were born and developed. Many jokes are based on local types and reflect the cultural elements of the region. The naiveté of the local people was clearly reflected in the jokes told in the Melikli region of Giresun. In most of these jokes, it is seen that besides the humor, the function of making others think is also fulfilled. The jokes told in Melikli generally proceed through Ali Fakkı, a type in which the local people consult. As it is understood from the studies on the local jokes made before, although there are various names, places and time changes, the variants of the Melikli jokes are recorded in Adana-Karatepe and among the German people. In this study, eight jokes about Meliklililer who have come to the forefront with their naiveté, peculiar points of view and weirdnesses in Giresun will be mentioned. Information will be given about “Ali Fakkı” type mentioned in the majority of the jokes and the jokes will be analyzed. In addition, the variants identified by various researchers in the Karatepe region of Adana and among the German people will be compared with them.
